"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." Psalm 139.14

The small things in life.

I like waking up in the morning to my dog staring at me, driving to work listening to Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" and getting boba with my coworker during lunch. I like pinning cool photos to my Pinterest boards, following famous people on Twitter and watching musicals with my mom. I like playing board games with my friends 'til late at night eating too much junk food. I like going to basketball games to cheer on my favorite team (Los Angeles Clippers) while wearing my favorite player's t-shirt (Blake Griffin). I like lying in my bed...just writing. I like listening to Mark Driscoll in the morning to wake me up from my slumber. I like eating dinner with my brother (he's pretty sweet under his tough exterior). I like looking at the stars at night hoping a shooting star passes by. I like watching the same movie multiple times in a row, reading fantasy books and collecting Polaroid-esque photos. I like stories about cops, magic and vampires + watching Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless argue on ESPN. I like collecting recipes and being in the kitchen. I like my hanging wall art of New York and my wrapping paper-turned-poster of Paris. I like cutting heart shapes out of old books and hanging it on my wall. I like laughing about nothing with my dad and buying my family presents. I like listening to R&B and hip hop songs. I like buying used books at little bookstores on corners.

There are so many other small things I like, but I'll stop here. I leave you with a song I'm addicted to right now (it's okay if you don't like it - haha). "Stronger" by Kanye West. I don't like Kanye, but this song is pretty dope.

Faith as small as a mustard seed.

Read Article →
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)

Faith as small as a mustard seed. That's all it takes to move mountains. Mountains?? Yeah, mountains. I feel like I struggle to have even the smallest amount of faith these days. What is faith? The Bible says "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1) Being sure of what I hope for and certain of what I do not see? Oh man...I have a longgggg way to go. Walking with the Lord is no walk in the park...it's soooo hard.

Lord, I've been waiting for you to answer my prayers, but why are you silent? How much longer do I need to wait? Am I not praying hard enough? Is your silence the answer? Please answer me. And, when you speak to me...I'd really like to obey.

Hmm...I think I kind of like this show. I'm not sure how much because I just started watching it, but it's pretty good so far.

My evaluation of "Suits" after watching Season 1 and Season 2: It's GOOD. Really good.

Turning thirty.

Read Article →
I'm not turning thirty anytime soon (whew!), but I was thinking about what it'd be like to turn thirty. At thirty, I'd like to have enough money saved up to put a down payment on a house. So glad I'm on my way! ^^ At thirty, I'd like to be married with a little one on the way. At thirty, I'd like to adopt my very own Welsh Springer Spaniel. Hehe. At thirty, I'd like to launch my own company/non-profit OR at least be planning for it. At thirty, I'd like to start writing my first novel. At thirty, I'd like to love God much much more than I love him now. Anyways, these are my thoughts about turning thirty.

I heart Cucina Enoteca.

If you're looking to dine at a vintage-esque, fancy restaurant with delish food, go to Cucina Enoteca in Irvine. I promise it won't disappoint! Cucina Enoteca is my favorite Italian restaurant in Irvine. ^^ I love the decor, especially the dangly chandelier lights and wooden shoe molds.

You should try the stuffed fried squash blossoms, pear + gorgonzola pizza, frutti di mare + squid ink linguine, truffle mushroom mac & cheese, burrata + prosciutto ‘caprese’ salad.

Here are some pictures of the decor + some photos of the food:
